As part of Wing Gundams 30th Anniversary celebration, Blizzard has just shown off the latest trailer for Overwatch 2 x Wing Gundam collaboration. Just like owning your own gunpla, the trailer shows off 4 playable skins in action including Mercy as Wing Gundam Zero, Ramattra as Epyon, Soldier: 76 as Tallgeese and Reaper as Deathscythe. Each have unique character models as well as dialogue lines.
Each skin can be purchased individually for a cost of 2,800 Overwatch Coins ($30/£23) or purchased in one go all together through the Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing Mega Bundle costing 5,900 Overwatch coins ($60/£46). They will also come accompanied by other cosmetic goodies to collect and skin specific challenges that will keep players engaged in the fight to dominate the battlefield. Fear not if you haven’t purchased a skin however, there are also challenges to partake in that will unlock additional cosmetics such as the Shinigami Title, Zero System Spray and Gundamari weapon charm.
Gundam Wing, for many growing up in the 2000’s, was the gateway to the Gundam franchise as it became the first in the series to air on a mainstream broadcast channel via Toonami in the United States. Its popularity in America ultimately also led to the United Kingdom, as well as the rest of the world picking up rights to the franchise too, gaining worldwide appeal.
