Perfection Strikes Again With The 1/60 Perfect Grade Unleashed RX-93 (v) Nu Gundam

For many, the 1/60 RX-78-2 Perfect Grade Unleashed Gundam is touted as the greatest Gunpla model kit to date. Packed with insane detail, scale and gimmicks. It’s a model kit that’s considered ‘the final boss’ in the world of Gunpla model kits.

Fast forward almost 4 and a half years since it’s worldwide release, Bandai has just recently announced the 1/60 Perfect Grade Unleashed RX-93 (v) Nu Gundam (PGU Nu for short) during the GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE Final event in Tokyo (timestamp 36:38).

Product details such as features, price and release date are still under wraps however some teaser images were unveiled during the show. We’re expected to hear more in May / June along with what we all hope will show more in depth product images and a features list (fin funnels anyone?).

The RX-93 Gundam designed by Izubuchi was voted the most popular in Japan in a recent national poll.

For anyone wondering, the RX-93 (v) Nu Gundam first made it’s debut in the movie Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack. The mobile suit was designed by Amuro Ray, the hero from the original 1979 MSG show, where it faces off against Char Aznables infamous Sazabi. However the real life credits go to legendary mech designer Yutaka Izubuchi.

You may also be wondering, why does it have a ‘ν’ in the name but called ‘Nu’? Well interestingly it derives from the greek letter ‘N’, which the lower case is shown as ‘ν’,** and is pronounced ‘Nu’ (’New’). This was a typical naming convention for mobile suits found in the Universal Century timeline, which often derived from the Greek alphabet and / or Greek mythology lore.

There’s a bit of trivia we bet you didn’t know about!

One thing is clear though: expect the 1/60 PG Unleashed Nu Gundam to be even more epic than its predecessor, with the latest cutting edge technology and engineering that Bandai has to offer.

Stay tuned for more details to come and you can be sure to grab yours at Rivals Corner, with a rumoured release around Christmas 2025.
