New Metal Gear Model For Series Fans

New Metal Gear Model For Series Fans

There has been more excitement around the Metal Gear Solid series in 2025 than we’ve seen for a while, no doubt helped by the release of the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 that was launched by Konami earlier this year.

Whether you’re new to the Metal Gear Solid series of games, having discovered them through this remake, or you’re a diehard fan of the original games, you will love the new collectable model released by Kotobukiya.

The 1/100 Metal Gear Rex MGS4 Version [Battle Damaged] model looks incredible and faithfully recreates the bipedal tank’s appearance with the addition of the battle damage that features in the game.

As a reminder, in the game’s lore, the REX tank was designed by a Soviet scientist in the 1960s, but wasn’t brought to life until the early 2000s when DARPA was bribed into providing the funding for ArmsTech to develop the REX.

The REX’s purpose is to be a mobile self-launch system for nuclear warheads, which can be launched without the need for rocket propulsion – thereby making them undetectable through satellite thermal imaging.

Within the game, fans will no doubt remember Solid Snake’s epic battle with the REX tank, which leads to the damage featured in this model version, as well as the scene where Snake is forced to pilot the REX.

The Kotobukiya model has thought through all these details and even comes complete with a Solid Snake figure, as well as figures of Raiden and Metal Gear MK. II. So, you can display your REX tank recreating one of the iconic moments from the game – including where Snake pilots REX.

What’s more, the base that comes with the model has been designed based on the hangar in which these battles take place in the game, giving it an even more authentic appearance. Here at Rivals Corner, we think fans of the Metal Gear Solid series will love this model!
